1 . Modernization and up gradation of Canning & Processing Unit at Khonmoh.
Corporation is having a Canning & Processing unit at Khonmoh which was commissioned in the year 1986. At present activities like processing of honey, jams and canning of various products is being carried out in the Plant. Plant has become old and some of the its machinery like i.e. Honey Processing Plant, needs modernization. Further purchase of new boilers and auto clave is also proposed to give boost to canning activity as Corpn. has started canning of cooked meat/Vegetable products etc. The Unit is running on loss from since its inception(1986) and there urgent need to increase the productivity of the unit by way modernizing the Canning Machinery including changing over the old machinery. The equipment to be added is the automatic canning Machinery, boiler and a large auto clave. Besides a cold room has to be added to the facility. A consultant has already visited facility on Nov. 19, 2008. The JK AIDCL also proposed to organize a facility for curd making and water bottling plan.
To carry out these works funds to the extent of Rs.50.00 lacs are proposed to be spent during the year 2009-10.
2. Modernization of Cattle Feed Plant and increasing the capacity by 120 MTs. per annum.
Corpn. has a Cattle Feed Plant at Bari. Brahamana (J) which was established in the year 1989. The Plant has become old and requires major renovation. Since there is a good demand of Agro brand Cattle Feed and is smking profits. Corpn. proposes to install a new fully automatic Cattle Feed Plant of 120 MTs capacity in the same building. To carry out these works i.e. for installation of new fully automatic Plant and to carry out renovation of existing plant Rs.225.00 is proposed to be spent during the year 2009-10. This investment will increase the over all profitability of the Corpn. by Rs. 50.00 lacs per annum approximately.
3. Setting up of Cold Chain (CA-Stores) facility in J&K.
The Corpn. was having a cold Store at Srinagar. This store was closed long back and its machinery was put to auction. Corpn. Proposes to set up 1500 MTs capacity C.A.Store at Lal Mandi where the civil structure is already existing. The similar C.A.Store is proposed to be set up at Bari-Brahamana, Jammu. Since, the existing cold Store at Delhi is of old technology, and can not cater to the demands of high value items like Dairy products, floriculture etc., there fore a C.A. Store of 2000 Tons capacity is proposed to be established at existing land at Delhi. This chain of cold storage will be supported by Reefer vans, Grading and pre-cooling facility at Srinagar. The total cost of the project is around Rs.2000.00 lacs.
As per the scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing, Govt. of India there is a subsidy of 75% on investment in Cold chain. Therefore Corpn.’s investment on the project would be around Rs. 500.00 lacs.
Corpn. proposes to allocate Rs. 500.00 lacs on scheme during the year 2009-10. The consultants are already in the process of preparing the DPR’s.
4. Office Automation and JKAIDCL website :-
To improve the functional efficiency of various offices of the Corpn. Computer System, Printers, Fax machines and Copier etc. are proposed to be installed at different offices of the Corpn. alongwith relevant soft wares. For this purpose Rs. 15.00 lacs have been allocated during the year 2009-10.
5. Agro Showroom at Lal Mandi :-
Corpn. has a existing shed at Lal Mandi. The shed is proposed to be extended and renovated in to Showroom for Agro and allied products. To carry out this scheme an amount of Rs.20.00 lacs has been proposed during the year 2009-10.
6. Renovation of Airport and TRC shops of the Corpn.
The Airport & TRC shops of the Corpn. requires major renovation and an amount of Rs.20.00 lacs is proposed to be spent on this activity during the year 2009-10.
7. Purchase of vehicles :-
All most all the vehicles of the Corpn. were purchased during the year eighties. These vehicles have become very old and are no longer roadworthy. Further as per the new guidelines of the Govt., vehicles more than 20 years old are to be kept off the roads. During the year 2009-10 Corpn. proposes to purchase two vehicles and for the purpose an amount of Rs.10.00 lacs have been allocated.
8. Conversion of Cold Storage, Srinagar in to Ware House.
The scheme has been shelved in view of proposed construction of C.A. store at existing space at Lal Mandi, Srinagar.
9. Manufacturing Plant for Bio-degradable packing material :- Corporation is also proposing to set up a 70 MT per day capacity Bio-degradable packing material manufacturing plant at Bari-Brahamana, Jammu in P&P scheme with M/S Earthsole India Pvt. Ltd. The Board outlines of the scheme are being worked out with the partner.The capital investment on the plant will be around Rs. 100.00 lacs out of which 40% shall be contributed by the Corpn. As such during the year 2009-10 Corpn. proposes to allocate Rs. 40.00 lacs for the scheme.
As per the above, total annual Plan of the Corpn. works out to Rs.880.00 lacs.
